I am a big lover of regenerative gardening. I am able to do that to a certain extent by leaving soil mulched all winter on my deck and in my garden downstairs. I use plants and leaves and other organic materials to cover the soil. I do use a natural fertilizer, worm castings, and start all my gardens with organic soil. I set a budget every year of no more than $65.00 and when it’s spent, it’s spent. I water my garden via a/c condensation and rinse water from dishes, or water run-off from rinsing or washing safe items. I also use a shade cloth for all my gardening, I garden at night for the most part, and water every morning at 10:00 a.m. I try to buy heat and drought resistant plants. I start my own tomatoes, peppers, marigolds, peas, green beans, squash, and rosemary in February of every year.
Here’s something that I was doing long before influencers were a thing on the internet. I discovered Purple Cow Organics in 2016 when it was just beginning to offer its products to home gardeners via a local nursery and the co-op we belonged to. It was very expensive soil. I was considered a bougie gardener by my peers when I bought it and tried it. So, I bought the soil, my plants loved it. I rang up the nursery that I bought it from, and they asked me to publicly review it, and I got sent merchandise for doing it!

After I did a review for this company, my review appeared all over their products online–with pictures of my lovely produce and flowers included. I was thrilled to say the very least.
